Introduction

A bit about me and where I see this site going.

I’m Jeff (he, him). I live in the tri-state area of KY, OH, and WV. I’m happily married to my beautiful wife of 10+ years, Tiffany. Between us we have three beautiful children – Rhiannon, Shandi, and Isaac as well as our four legged children – Cerin, and Olive. I’ll almost certainly write more about this motley crew we call family. *ahem*

I live with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). More specifically – Ulcerative Colitis/Pancolitis. My diagnosis came in 2016 and to say that life changed at that point would be an understatement. I may write more on that journey.

I spent years in emergency services both volunteering as a firefighter in my hometown and professionally as an EMT for the county ambulance service and later as a rescue/health and safety professional in the private sector. I have trained extensively in rope rescue (confined space, high angle), hazardous materials, fire suppression/safety/investigation, first aid, and many more. In addition to working as a responder, I also taught classes on these subjects and more for industrial fire brigade personnel and other first responders within private workplaces all around the United States. I made many great friends and contacts in those pursuits. I may choose to write on subjects in this arena as I feel led.

Anyone who knows anything about me will tell you I’m a geek. A title I’ll proudly wear. I’ve always been drawn to tech. Yes, I was that kid who took my toys apart – and in most cases was able to put them back together with minimal spare parts. This as you might imagine – will be the lions share of content I expect to write on. I know a little about a lot and love to learn new things all the time. I’m also ADHD (undiagnosed officially, but to the surprise of noone who knows me) so I tend to latch on to a new thing and hyperfocus on it till I’ve mastered it, so expect brain dumps on said hyperfocuses.
